സമൂഹത്തില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഉത്തരവാദി സിനിമയല്ല, മാധ്യമങ്ങളാണെന്ന് ഷൈന്‍ ടോം ചാക്കോ. അക്രമങ്ങളും ലഹരിയും പോലെ അടക്കി സംസാരിക്കേണ്ട കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അമിത പ്രാധാന്യം ലഭിക്കുന്നു. രാസലഹരിയെക്കുറിച്ച് 24മണിക്കൂറും ചർച്ച നടത്തിയാൽ കുട്ടികൾ അത് തേടിപോകും. പ്രശ്നങ്ങളാണ് കൂടുതല്‍ വിറ്റുപോകുന്നതെന്നും ഷൈനിന്‍റെ വിമര്‍ശനം. എല്ലാവരുടെയും അടുത്ത് ചെന്ന് നിരപരാധിത്വം തെളിയിക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കില്ല. കൊക്കെയ്ൻ കേസിൽ താൻ പ്രതിയായത് സ്വാധീനിക്കാൻ കഴിവില്ലാത്തതുകോണ്ടാണെന്നും ലഹരിക്കേസുകളിൽ പലതും വാർത്തയ്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി മാത്രം റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നവയാണെന്നും ഷൈൻ മനോരമ ന്യൂസിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു. ഹൈബ്രിഡ് കഞ്ചാവ് കേസിൽ തന്‍റെ പേര് പറഞ്ഞത് മാധ്യമങ്ങളാണെന്നും കൊക്കെയ്ൻ കേസിൽ കുറ്റവിമുക്തനാക്കപ്പെട്ട ശേഷമുള്ള ആദ്യ അഭിമുഖത്തിൽ ഷൈൻ മനോരമ ന്യൂസിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു. ലഹരി സംബന്ധിച്ച ചോദ്യങ്ങളിൽ പ്രകോപിതനായി ഷൈൻ അഭിമുഖത്തിൽ നിന്നിറങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
