ഒറ്റപ്പാലം ലക്കിടി കൂട്ടുപാതയ്ക്കു സമീപം സ്കൂട്ടറും ജീപ്പും കൂട്ടിയിടിച്ച് കോളജ് അധ്യാപകൻ മരിച്ചു. ലക്കിടി നെഹ്റു കോളജ് അസിസ്റ്റൻ്റ് പ്രഫസറും പാലക്കാട് സ്വദേശിയുമായ അക്ഷയ് ആർ മേനോനാണ് മരിച്ചത്.
അധ്യാപകൻ സഞ്ചരിച്ചിരുന്ന ബൈക്ക് ജീപ്പുമായി കൂട്ടിയിടിച്ചായിരുന്നു അപകടം. തലയ്ക്ക് സാരമായി പരുക്കേറ്റ അധ്യാപകനെ കണ്ണിയംപുറത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. രാവിലെ എട്ടേമുക്കാലോടെയായിരുന്നു അപകടം.
