സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ സ്കൂളുകളില് ഒന്നാം ക്ലാസില് ചേരാനുള്ള പ്രായം അടുത്ത അധ്യയന വര്ഷം മുതല് ആറു വയസാക്കുന്നു. 2026 –2027 അധ്യയന വര്ഷം മുതലാണ് ഇത് നടപ്പാക്കുക. കേന്ദ്ര നിര്ദേശം പാലിച്ചാണ് തീരുമാനം. ഇപ്പോള് അഞ്ചുവയസില് ഒന്നാം ക്ലാസില് ചേരാമെന്ന രീതി ഈ അധ്യയന വര്ഷം കൂടി തുടരും. നിലവില് ഒന്നാംക്ളാസില് ചേരുന്ന 52 ശതമാനം കുട്ടികളും ആറുവയസുകാരാണെന്ന് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രി വി.ശിവന്കുട്ടി അറിയിച്ചു.
ENGLISH SUMMARY:
The age limit for admission to class one in schools in the state will be raised to six years from the next academic year. This will be implemented from the 2026-2027 academic year. The decision is in line with central directives. The current practice of admitting children to class one at the age of five will continue this academic year. Education Minister V. Sivankutty said that currently 52 percent of children admitted to class one are six years old.
